Research Awards 2019

With these awards, Leuphana highlights research achievements that are groundbreaking in the German and international research landscape and make important contributions to the university's reputation. On the basis of an implementation paper, revised annually after a voting process, research achievements of the previous year are surveyed and evaluated. The evaluation takes into account international standards of the respective scientific community and research culture. Research strength is primarily measured in terms of publication results, the acquisition of third-party funding and the reference of other scientists to existing research results as well as other outstanding personal achievements. The award winners are selected in a nomination procedure in which the four faculties and the senate commission for research participate. The award categories this year are: Leuphana Research Prize, Leuphana Prize for Young Scientists, Leuphana Monograph Prize, Leuphana Doctoral Prize and Leuphana Special Prize for Gender and Diversity Research.
